A starboard view of the long-living East German railway ferry Sassnitz (6164 grt/2318 nrt).
She was commissioned on June 22nd, 1959 by the Neptunwerft at Rostock and served for 27 years on the route Sassnitz-Trelleborg resp. Sassnitz-Rönne.
The capacity was 40 goods wagons resp. 16 express train wag

It is not strange that she was called the most beautiful train-ferry in the world - still very actual when we are looking at her. Such nice features one can't find on today's ships.
