Sorry to say so, but Sea Cloud II was built in 2000! The ship you reffer to is the Sea Cloud, which still trades as the SEA CLOUD!

Thanks for your comment - I am not in position to argue the point - but if you look closely at the next image you will just make out the name on the bow "Sea Cloud ll" - I am well aware of the new Sea Cloud ll built in 2000 in Spain but the vessel I photographed also has same name.

I think you guys are both right and wrong. This ship is Sea Cloud II. Delivered in February 2001 by Astilleros Gondan, Figueros, Spain. The design is very much based on the original Sea Cloud of 1931, except that ship has four masts and a short funnel.

Thanks Fred - you are absolutely right - so I need to amend my description of the vessel but it is definitely Sea Cloud II. I have just completed search on this webpage - and there is excellent photo of both ships alongside in Antigua with description of both ships. To be honest I knew little of the ship but the commentator (who shall remain nameless) on the Paddle Steamer Waverley gave the incorrect information - when describing the vessel!!
