The one time I tried a float test, it didn't and is probably still on the bottom of Kingston harbour. Didn't it have a telescopic mast that you could rig the wire aerial on? (I think that's a piece of it in the background.)
Yes it did have a telescopic mast - in a plastic bag inside the lid I think. If you tested it every week (like you were supposed to) you got to know where to put the headphones so that the lid would close.

As I recall, Frequency, Auto Red, Transmit, maunal (could have been morse, I have been asleep since then),Recieve, send and Recieve, or something like that. No doubt one of you RO types will put me right.
Anyway, it was a lot better than the bigger dustbins I was used to.
There was another saying he used as well, but thats long been filed in time.
