A short career compared to most RFAs. I have some fond memories of this ship, especially the voyage/deployment to Angola in 1995 - UNAVEM III. It was the present Commodore's first Command.

Interesting ensign to be flying at the time of her launch, when in theory she was still the property of the yard. I guess I have missed the point and RFA had a different approach to either the RN or the MN as to the time of taking over title of their ship..

Not sure if you have missed a point at all tonga, it's a good question. Maybe Lancastrian or GeorgeGM may be able to explain?

What me? I know nothing! As far as I know RFAs are usually launched with RFA Ensigns. This appears to be a plain Blue Ensign but maybe the anchor is lost in the folds. Or perhaps they just didnt have one to hand.
She wore a Red for the sea trials.
