Some great memories there, the run up to New Ross, daylight sailing only for tankers in those days, is it still the same Paddy?
I recall you when you joined as pilot on ther river from Passage to N-R!
When inward bound it was always "full ahead" to steer "her" through the narrow cap in the Railway bridge.
I must say it is good to see you still active Paddy, your photo collection around the coast is great, I recall most of the shots from my Rowbotham days when we tied up alonside the old "Light Ship" berthed in town.
HI willincity that was my uncle willie who was pilot in New Ross he sadly passed away 10 yrs ago he was only 59, the light ship is gone now, The DUNBRODY famine ship is tied up there now but the tankers still go to Ross to the Campus berth down river from where the light ship was.
HI Fred as you can see i wasn't pilot in New Ross so i know nothing about Kellys but i have seen them passing from time to time.
Im dreadfully sorry to hear about the death of your uncle and I hope I caused you no distress with my mistake. It was over 12 years ago since I was in New Ross last and recall your uncle vividly, a great fellow and a fine pilot, he did his bit to keep New Ross and active port.
My condolences to you and the rest of the family, that said I stand by my statement from the earlier post in this thread - it is a fine photo collection you have there and a credit to you, I look forward to seeing any further shots you load onto this site,
