Are you sure this is Las Palmas. I don't remember such crowds on the quay there? Suspiciously like a USSNZ funnel to the right??

Never been there but a wonderful period shot of a very succesful and long - lived ship . Love the Morrises !

With the "British" built cars and red courtesy flag looks more like a N.Z port.

Morrie has other photos of this trip. I have asked him if he will reproduce them in this gallery. The walkers clothing does look antipodean as well?

Red funnel in background = Union SS Co ? On the other hand,mountains to left look a bit like Suva.

I was thinking Suva, the Union Company ship with the wooden bridge could be the Matua or Tofua, both were regular visitors to Suva

I was on SX in 68/69 and the white line was no longer there then.

Union SS vessel looks like Matua - she had square windows at forward end of superstructure -Tofua had round ports.
