Does anyone know what the "Fight the Pirates" is all about?

Fight the pirates is Speedferries answer to P&O and Seafrance. They are the Easyjet of cross channel ferry services.

The ship is Incat hull 045, ex Jervis Bay of the Australian Navy. She then went to Tris of Italy running between Genoa and Sardinia. I was on the delivery of her from Genoa to Portland, UK where she had a new gearbox fitted on the port inner main engine. The old one had wiped out, taking most of the engine room plates with it and shearing the Coupling! We were still doing 30 knots on three engines in a force ten through Bay of Biscay! Went past the Prestige as she was foundering.

There was a TV do***entary on the BBC about the early days of Speed Ferries a while back. Apparently when the Dover-Boulogne service began, P&O and Seafrance began playing dirty tricks on the company. In one instance a ship was berthed in front of Speed One's linkspan so that Speed Ferries' service was severely disrupted. That was when the FIGHT THE PIRATES! thing started. I say GOOD LUCK to Speed Ferries. For too long now cross-channel passengers have been ripped off by the big boys!
