When did they change the funnel, she was still plain NZSC colours when I was on her for the MANZ run 62/63.

The funnel was changed 1967. This was her last port and visit to NZ, we had also been on a MANZ run.
Handed her over to the Greeks 2 months later while in Albert Docks and they ran her to Aussie and filled up with scrap for Taiwan.
The photo is kind to her, rust had taken its toll and there was a very nasty crack running across the deck aft of No.3 which opened up in heavy weather off Nova Scotia. But a very happy ship.

I'M surprised she was put back on the MANZ run after the trouble we had on the 62/63 trip we were broken down with genny trouble in nearly every port on the eastern seaboard we went to,

I coasted the Pap Avonmouth to Liverpool July 1965 with a near full load of reefer cargo. The gennies then were burning more lube oil than fuel. Remember that the lub oil was carried in long vertical tanks in the engine room (correct ?) and additional supplies were waiting on the wharf when we arrived alongside in Liverpool.
