The second Somerset 1918 was quite different with the accomodation split by No. 3 hatch. She suffered a similar fate, in 1941 being heavily damaged by aircraft torpedo bound Liverpool from BA with refrigerated cargo. The crew were rescued by a corvette and the wreck sunk by gunfire.
