Stornoway Harbour

Arnish Fabrication Yard at top, on the left Goat Island with slipway, Anglian Prince opposite Isle-of-Lewis ferry, definately not the usual "Border" tanker on the oil jetty, possibly Fred's Ability, I know she was relieving for a while, unknown cruise ship opposite Cal-Mac's Murnaig at No.

Those two ships on the right look like they could be Calmacs Isle of Arran and Northlinks Hascosay.
Any idea when it was taken?

Hi Jim, I have no way of enhancing the pic to try and identify boats on the right, I thought at first it was a FPS vessel but I've edited that to fishing boats, in other words I dont know! Agentroadrunner answers your question Jim, Cheers Sheriff

Taken at least 4 years ago I would guess!

Tug at No.3 pier is "Statesman"

Cal-Mac's Isle of lewis at No.3 linkspan berth

Possibly "Sigas Commander" or something like that at No.2

Cal-Mac's Isle of Arran & Northlink's Hascosay at No.1

Almost certainly taken from Rescue MU ( Coastguard Helo )

See Angus Murray's picture from the other direction!

Angus posted his and credited MU as the source, its in this category somewhere.

This looks like it must've been taken at the same time.

I was 2/O on IOL at the time, "Statesman" came to relieve the Anglian boat which was on station at the time & I don't remember seeing her again.

The gas tankers were fairly regular but not as much as the Border Boats.

It's def IOA & Hasc. at No.1 and the Muirnaeg has been there a while now so I'm guessing at least 4 years ago.

This pic brings back very happy memories for me!

This was about APR/MAY 2002 when Hascosay took over from IOA. Hascosay went to Aberdeen at end of Sep 2002 being replaced by Muirneag operated by Harrisons Clyde for Calmac
