The Portuguese m/v TAGUS, 68,33m/1.107gt, built 1938 by A.Vuijk & Zonen, Capelle a/d Ijssel, for Atkinson & *****ett, Ltd.,Hull:1939 purchased by Companhia Nacional de Navegação, Lisbon, for its Portugal or Mozambique coastal traffic. 19/03/1963 wrecked by explosion followed by fire in the Mozambique coast 10nm north Inhambane. 3 men dead and considered as total constructive loss.
Sister-ship: British m/v COXWOLD, although built in 1938 by Goole S/B and Repairing Co, Ltd.Goole, which called Oporto/Leixões in the period 1946/48.
