many thanks Lefteris. Nektarios Papadakis had made the same educated observation, saying:
"The ship was never officially named TAKIS M. or TAKIS MYTILINI.
She always carried the name TAKIS under the Greek Flag.
Info from the OFFICIAL Greek Registries:
TAKIS, Registered at Thessaloniki (off. no 76, B' Class) from 10-4-1969 to 25-6-1970.
TAKIS, Registered at Mytilini (off. no 12, B' Class) from 25-6-1970 to 19-1-1982. Owner : M. Karyfilis.
Sold and deleted from the Greek Registries 19-1-1982.
Call sign SWBN (SV3783), IMO 5093492"

Thanks Malcolm for the info, but still on her bow is clearly distinguished TAKIS M , which leads me to think that when she was registered at Mytilini , had the M as well.Small details anyway, just for the history.

Best regards

Many thanks Lefteris. Nektarios adds that "the "M" in the name comes from the owner K. Mattianos. Initially owned by D. Kalkassinas & K. Mattianos, later only by K. Mattianos. M. Karyfilis is a co-owner or the person legally responsible for her. There have been many cases in Greek Shipping where the actual name of a ship is different from what is painted on the hull. The information from the OFFICIAL Greek Registries is 100% correct."

with all best wishes
Malcolm
