TAMATHAI

When photographed on 24 August 1986, Tamahine Shipping's former CRESTBANK is seen in lay up shortly after arrival under her new name at Birkenhead.

Tamahine, deciding to sell her the following year to Greek buyers, who renamed her NORTHMAN, then amazingly decided to buy the ship back in 1988.

"Crestbank" one of two 'Type B' liner configurations from Sunderland Shipbuilders the other being "Fenbank". Very similar looking to the 'Type A' of the "Fleetbank" Class except 1.5 metres wider with a gross tonnage of 12300 and a deadweight of 18000 tonnes.
