This is a new vessel, which together with her sister ship Victorian Reliance II, will replace the two older vessels (TA and VR) on the Port Melbourne-Burnie service for TOLL starting Monday 25th February. I was Project Manager during construction of both vessels at JinLing Shipyard, Jiangsu, China.

Note that the WSM management and the Vanuatu registry will be changed to TOLL management and Australian registry, with full Australian crews before the vessels enter service. The 'foreign' flag was for the delivery voyage only.

Seems they liked the look of this one https://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/764714/title/hartland-point/cat/528 when they had her on charter a few years ago.

I'm still a bit puzzled about how they are going to get a 210 metre ship into the berth.... it will be very neat fit and not much fun on a windy day.

I'm now not sure it was the 'Hartland'....possibly the Longstone....certainly one of them with a longish name ... just saw her once... not sure of the date... 3 years ago maybe.... chartered in while the VR and TA took it in turns to go to drydock.

Ah that may be more like it, didnt think the 'Hartland Point' had been on charter out there. 'Longstone' and 'Beachy Head' have been sold, few years back now, and the remaining 4 are flat stick on MoD work usually. 'Eddystone' just left East Cove yesterday. Im in Stanley with a vessel on maintenance and surveys atm, you still over in the Chilean channels on your boat ?

Boat in Pto Montt.... but I'm in Australia right now.... we did an 'Aduana run'... reseting the customs' clock ... from Williams to Stanley and back in Oct 17. In 7 days time will be starting our 16th year in the 'Southern Cone'

Just chance that I saw the Longstone... happened to be in Port Melbourne which I very rarely visit these days... saw a strange funnel in the distance...
