Built in 1890 by Robert Thompson & Sons Southwick Sunderland Great Britain as " ORIA " for W. S. Bailey Co Ltd Hull Great Britain. Launched 20/03,delivered 01/05.

Tonnage : grt / nrt / tdw - 2.200 / 1.364 / 3.200.
Machinery : G.Clark Sunderland Steam reciprocating Engine Triple Exp ( 21,8"-35,0"-57,5" stroke: 39,0") - 630 IHK (203 NHK).
Main Boiler : 2 x Steam Boilers (13.3’ x 10.3’) w/ 3 furnace. Workpressure 160 psi..

1897 Transferred to Bailey & Leetham Ltd Hull Great Britain.
1904 Sold to T. Wilson, Sons & Co. Ltd Hull Great Britain.
1906 Sold to A/S Thorsdal (J. Johanson Rederi & Co Kristiania as manager) Kristiania/Oslo Norway.renamed " THORSDAL ".
1916 Magnus E. Melsom Larvik became manager for J. Johanson Rederi & Co Kristiania and moved the company to Larvik in April.
1917 Torpedoed 24/07 by the German submarine U 44 (Kapitänleutnant Paul Wagenführ) off Scotland West Coast (55.40N-13.38W) while on a voyage from Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada to Ardrossan, Scotland with timber.
The crew abandoned to the lifeboats. The submarine surfaced and asked for the latest news before shelling THORSDAL until she sank.
The crew was rescued the next morning by a British cruiser.Insurance NOK 1.500.000.
