Indeed she did, I was on board for the Dundalk visits, both taking napthalene if I remember correctly.
By that time Rowbothams were running her down and paint etc was in short supply, a bone of contention for skippers & mates alike!!
Can't remember the name of the guy who used to charter her for that run though, but it was always a good trip up the river.
The Oilman was skippered either by the late John Marsden or by Kenny MacDonald I think for that run.....Bowker & King took over most of the tidal runs when the smaller ships went, as they used flat bottomed barges!!

Jones the Pilot use to meet you off Bangor for ships approaching from the north to take you through the straights and then onto the berth shown in the above photo.
This entrance was for daylight approach only although the Master had done all the hard work in the dark to arrive at Bangor at day-break.
The South Entrance was absolutely hopeless in a SWly wind over force 6

The charter in Dundalk was Fergus Murphy / Highfield Imports. Still in business, a work-alcoholic and non stop talker !! Captain Graham / TILLERMAN 1 trip and Captain Marsden / OILMAN made 4 or 5 trips and Dave Roberts in the OILMAN - 1 trip( On her last trip, she sailed on the am tide of 5th Jan 1986 to Milford Haven .. ) Charley
