Thanks Malcolm, a trip down memory lane there for me. Used to see her and other Rowbotham's tankers many times at ICI Billingham on the Tees in the mid 60's. These and many other similar coastal tankers and dry cargo coasters were essential, albeit unsung and hardworking ships, that kept trade going around our coasts.

Thanks again for the memories

Regards

ICI Billingham, now thats a blast from the past. Been there on the Leadsman and Astraman(towed up stern first as too big to swing)

Best ever vessel in the Rockies fleet - regular on her as 2nd Mate and then Mate until she was sold in Leith ... a sad day

I went aboard her one night in Middlesborough in 1979 to service the compressed air breathing apparatus. Unbeknownst to me, the buggers shifted ship, and when I emerged, saw my car on the quay, receding in the distance. I had a very expensive taxi ride to get back to it from some desolate oil berth in the middle of nowhere.
