I think I read somewhere that everything was back to front in this scene because they could only build one side or the titanic in detail so they mirrored the shot. Hence why the 2 on the crane is back to front?
Is that right or have I just gone loopy?
Sorry guys but I reversed the negative by mistake, well I was trained by H&W LOL. Sorry Daniel but that is a myth, the whole, and I do mean whole ship was built. Spot on Mr C !!
No it's Southampton.....honest(Smoke) on the Caspian that is (She took a wrong turning Neville, H&W made a horlicks of the compass adjustment(Jester) )
By counting the visible rivets, it must be Olympic. She had 9,546,321 in her port side and Titanic had 9,546,318!
Seriously, I personally thought that the film was dire, however I did like the "second" part and I think that the natural light in the clear desert air was very evocative.
Sorry to be a "smart ars*" Dave but it's actually Britannic being used for this shot. If you look carefully you can see there are actually 9,894,337 rivets and the plates are lapped outside in rather than inside out. The Olympic could not be used as she was painted in her summer livery at the time and the glare from the desert sun made our eyes water. What film are you referring to? are you implying this is a fake(Jester)
