Tokyo Maru At Melbourne.
Was this the one Damaged by USS Scamp on the 10th November 1943, eventually sank 12th November 1943.

Still checking but the style and construction of this one suggests to me that she is post WW2, maybe late 40's early 50's, but not the one sunk in 1943.

I think she is the pre war one.... can't find another pic of her but http://www.wrecksite.eu/wreck.aspx?180288 is similar pre war tonnage. Also...my 1960 LSI lists a 1952 built Tokyo Maru.... by then she would have had radar... this ship doesn't have one

thanks for that Cisco, certainly can't argue with that link to Canberra Maru!
The photo of the Canberra Maru seems to be almost exactly the same photo as this one and it appears as though the name 'Canberra' on the bow has been added to the photo later, so presumably this is a company photo of the Tokyo Maru and in fact the link to the so-called Canberra Maru actually probably shows Tokyo Maru as well.
