Are you sure she is a woodchip carrier?

She has a roro ramp on the stern and what looks like palletised cargo elevator forward of the bridge. Perhaps more of a paper products carrier or similar.

You may be right, but the knowledgable bloke who was stood at my shoulder told me she was a woodchip vessel. Who an I to argue, I've been a plumber for years!

Hi Pat,

According to the Equasis website she is a Swedish flag RoRo vessel of 20,851grt built in 2002.

Obviously going by your photo she also has proper hatches so more a multi-purpose vessel.

She's not a woodchip carrier, nor a multi-purpose cargo liner, but a ro-lo ship. That means that she has conventional holds /hatches, plus access to the main deck by the stern ro-ro ramp. She also has side port access to the lower hold. Most vessels of this sort are used in the palletised woodpulp trade and I believe that this one is no exception.
