Thanks for the compliment BR. Not long after I took this Gabo and Keera came downstream but the light and clouds were not quite as good as for this shot of the Edina.
Shot on a Pentax K200D, 1/160, F8, ISO 160, 135mm

Looks like one of the old "Buccaneer"class from Carringtons. Twin screw steerable nozzles. She looks as though she has been modified for a special task.
Does any one know what she used to be called and what she is doing now.
We used to have her sister called the "Wyola" here in Fremantle.

EDINA was originally BARBARY, later WAITARA, the third of the 14 Barnes & Fleck 29m design, and the first with the longer deckhouse - the master and engineer's cabins were re-sited on the main deck. The stern modification and winch were for the recent Boskalis Melbourne dredging project. Incidentally, WYOLA exPIRATE was the 6th of the class, and is currently working offshore Dampier.

Jeff: I was hanging out for a view of the modified stern arrangement and you came good !

Many thanks BR...............
I spent many happy days playing with the Wyola in Fremantle when she was working there. Good to see that such a versatile and effective tug is still earning her keep.
