They are not working. In my day in NZS we stripped the derricks, overhauled all the gear, replaced what needed replacing, and then stowed it in the booby hatch at each hatchway or in the winch houses. The topping lifts were of course sent back aloft. Then began the soogieing and painting with a bit of chipping for light relief. Another point, it was shirts on all the time while working on deck and believe it or not short back and sides was the order of the day
