looks like an ex-stern trawler converted into a Salmon boat at the end of the quay Ian is she custom built like that or converted???

It's the council ferry Snolda, she was built for the job as the Filla for the Skerries run and the name was changed when she was moved to the Papa Stour run.

That would explain why I thought she was a trawler Ian , Miller's designer harking back to the Fishing Boats lol.

Its in the Fishing News that Millers has been bought over and a workforce of 12 will start work within weeks so we may well see trawlers being launched in St Monans again

That's great news Davie. It'll be good to see a shipbuilding presence on the Forth again.
Do you know if Richard MacBay is still on the go in Johnshaven? I haven't been there for some years.

No idea Jim i'd guess Graham Toward would be the man to ask ( grahamtowa ) its been almost 10 years since I was in Johnshaven (Thumb)

Not being a driver, it's not easy for me to get down there. Sailed past it enough times though. LOL
Was at a course in RGIT (Altens) and the lecturer mannie (fae Stonehaven) was saying the village is being bought up by 'big money' from the cities. Gradually becoming less of a place for locals. Sad really.
