Two Federal Ships - Dunedin NZ I think. No - Napier

I think that I took this at Dunedin but not sure now. Not sure of the ships but I was on one of them.
Correction:- Napier

Nice photo Colin.

Do you or any of the other Federal men remember/know a Radio officer with the surname "Callaghan" he sailed on a few Federal ships in the early 1970's, at the time his family were living in Preston but they were originally from Liverpool.

Superb photo matey! Love the colours on the nearest ship, just as spectacular as Blue Star ships. Must have been great sailing on these.

It's the first time i've seen a pic of a Sanko line ship on this site. Used to see them everywhere in the early eighties, didn't they go bust in big style?

Cheres for this one.

It must be Essex rather than sister ship 'Otaki'. Colin, in my 'Crossed Flags' magazine of November 1970 you are in the Fleet list as 7th Eng on Essex.
Keep these NZS photos coming, great stuff!

Excellent picture of those splended days. looks like the Manapouri by the length of the name on the bow. The Essex looks in good nick, much the same as when I was with her.
