Hi
I think you will find that the Britannica is coming in with the Hollandica going out. We often pass like this at a distance, but due to the weather, the Hollandica has been sailing late due to the HSS not sailing. Both ships get held back to the HSS sailing time in order to take the passengers booked on the HSS. This has happened twice this week since I joined on Tuesday.

Hawkeye,

Will be very interesting to see/hear how the Britannica handles after the lengthening - I take it she will be fitted with an additional bow thrust? And a stern thrust too perhaps? Certainly Holyhead's Adventurer could have done with a third bow unit - a facility enjoyed on the competing Ulysses.

Hi Pluijimpje

It wasn't my eyes. I work on the Stena Britannica and may have been onboard when the photo was taken. Either way, you get to know the movements of the ships.

Hi Cambria
It will be interesting. We are getting a third bow thruster, but no stern one. I believe the rudders are being altered to give the required movements. And we are going first to Germany. As it stands at the moment, we leave the Hook on the 18th.

Hi Cambria

Part of the original plan was for the Seatrader to return to the Hook - Kilingholme & Trader on the Harwich run. However, due to the Irish checking the two ships Harwich sent to Holyhead, Holyhead didn't want the Seatrader to go. Despite having up to date surveys, Stena had to spend a lot of money 'fixing' them. They were thinking that each ever ship replaced the Seatrader, she to will be detained. The other ship was the Transporter.
The latest plan is for the Partner or the Transfer to run to Kilingholme, the Transporter will cover each ever ship leaves, and a chartered vessel will cover the Transporter's run. The Trader then sails to Harwich.

I have also a rumour to the effect that the Traveller will relieve the Adventurer, but it is a case of watch this space.

Regards
Karl

Hi Karl,

Yep, pretty much hear the same talk - in fact as far back as August Holyhead were expecting the Traveller (or Trader) as the overhaul relief; but as you say watch this space!
