U-Boat stranded on beach

This is a well known picture of German submarine SM U-118 washed ashore at Hastings, Sussex on April 15th, 1919.
She surrendered on February 23rd , 1919. Would have been transferred to France, but the tow cable snapped during her voyage to France and she went aground off Hastings. She was later broken up.

'there we go', - and learning a little more, there was no info with the photo, ex.Imperial War Museum, and had wondered about that beach, Hastings - quite famous, it had the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Europe back then. one of the medieval Cinque Ports.
- and holders of the world mini golf championships today. That's my limit these days, a round of mini golf, when it gets going again.
