Ship nearest the camera is one of W. H. Seagar (Tempus Shipping Co), a Cardiff tramp company that went out of business about 1960.

Hello David and thank you, as ever for your help.... I still have six more boxes of postcards to go through, who knows what is in them? Best Wishes, Raymond

Seagers were just a small company but had several ships of the 'long bridge deck' design. I think this one may be the "Beatus" but am quite happy to be proved wrong.
Regards,
Dave.

The River Fal stretch is I believe, on the next bend up from Tolverne, a straight stretch that leads up to the final bend, just down from Malpas.
I think in these time the ships would be sitting on the mud even at high tide.
