Hi Terry,
On the PAUL LECAT, the well decks begin just at both ends of accomodations. On the unknown ship, we find a small deck (15/20 m long) aft and forward the main accomodations.
The unknown ship seems not completed; life boats are missing. I wonder this photo was taken a few time after launching ?

D'accord Yvon, you are quite right; she isn't the Paul Lecat. The two small cranes forward of the bridge make me think she is the Sphinx now......

She looks very light in this picture; I wonder if she was launched with her funnels in place?

The funnels are too close togther to be André Lebon. The Porthos and Athos both had more small cranes forward of the bridge......

SPHINX was either launched very incomplete and brought in a dry dock for further compeltion or built in the dry dock:

Furthermore she didn't have an extended deck at the rear end of the accomodations.
But ATHOS had, and she was launched in the state pictured:
