Stan, these are the same BP tankers you submitted previously http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/143624/ppuser/7905
They were identified as British Architecht, Destiny, Judge and Light
Incidentally, you have scanned the slide the wrong way round, giving the impression that they are berthed differently.

Nope .... there are 3 in all, 35's at first glance ... in BP Tanker livery ....the one nearest could possibly be Brandon Priory due to the configuration of supports to the boat deck down aft....the Bideford priory had rails instead of bulwarks down aft and amidships ... similar to the Mk II Birdy Boats.

Sorry, but please read the thread here http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/143624/ppuser/7905
These are no way anything other than 3 of the 4 BP ships mentioned (you can't see the 4th in this photo). I saw them, and there were no other similar tankers laid up in KGV.

I think Stan is trying to make this more interesting, the picture is the wrong way round as Thamesphil rightly says! BP Shields are back to front as are the markings on the jetty. Having played with the image a bit it looks to me as if the ship nearest has had her BP Shield removed from the funnel leaving the black looking splodge on the white square. When enhanced this is the shape of the shield so, possibly, the ship is being prepared for her last voyage to the breakers yard. I'm with Thamesphil on this one, three of the four already discussed. British Destiny closest with the British Architect inside her and the British Judge forward of them. The British Light which was astern of these ships is not visible in this shot.

Alastair

Apologies to one and all, I've just realised that I wrote something stupid above. The British Destiny was sold in 1975 from lay up to Marine Transporters & Suppliers Corp., Liberia who renamed her Agia Trias. She soldiered on until 1982. So the removal of her BP livery is probably in preparation for hand over to her new owners.

Alastair

Just for the record.I could say I uploaded this for Stan the wrong way round to test the observance powers of members but I would not sleep properly if I did.
It is always risky to work before the first cuppa of the day..and I have paid the price.(POP)

Very gracious of you Alan - but I plead guilty.I am the eldest and more prone to errors.

Now shipmates - can we have a decision on the names of these elusive ships?
Regards
Stan

Just a thought, but the picture must be printed the right way round, as the writing on the "dummy", bottom right is correct.
As for the ships, I was away at the time.
