Can't make out if her Funnel has a cover on it or they are possibly running the Gennie up to Atmosphere. Grand Old Lady built on the KISS principle and lasting for year's. Look's British built although she may have had a change of Davit's

A punt here. This looks like a possible Frederiksstad ship. Given the V on the funnel the only thing I can come up with for vessels like this is Vivaldi & Giacomini. Try Valtellina ex-Torfinn Jarl of 1922:

Both these vessels were renamed in 1950, not 1948. But that photo of Torfinn Jarl isn't a bad match.

thanks for TORNI she certainly looks exactly like the ship in the dock even down to the vents on top of the derrick posts. Also it looks like there is some hull damage similar to that being repaired so maybe its a common area for damage in this ship
