I think Swedish, but my guess would be JUPITER of 1936, owned by Rederi A/B Iris (C.Abrahamsen) of Stockholm. Built at Stettin, she traded as ISA until 1940.

Hi Alan,
Yes off Gravesend with Tilbury fort in background...As she is bound up river she has probably
discharged pulp at Rochester or Ridham dock on the Swale and will load coke at
Beckton gas works for a return cargo to Sweden.
It was the usual procedure of most of the Baltic forest products traders.

graham yes! that was the other candidate but I could not find a good photo. You are right it is her with her bridge well forward of amidships. Thanks for the link and ID.

Stan once again you have added another piece to the jigsaw which makes the photo much more interesting.
