According to Miramar she was.

She was built by Bethlehem-Sparrows Point SY at their Sparrow's Point Yard and completed in August 1941 for the Socony-Vacuum Oil Co Inc . Name changed in 1942 to KENNEBEC and ownership transferred to the US Navy and subsequently the US Goverment in 1971, retaining the name Kennebec. She was broken up in San Jose, Cal., 14.5.82 [Levin Metals Corp]
