Excellent Image Rory,my father began his life in the Merchant Navy with Elders & Fyffes, Bayano in 1934 and Cavina early 1935 sailing out of Avonmouth for the West Indies, USA etc.It must have seemed another world at age 14, their vessels sure did look the part from the outside I wonder.
Regards.
Clive.
