I think this is a photo of a ship in one of Swan Hunter Shiprepairers, Wallsend dry docks. There was a pontoon dock in Sunderland, but none on the Tyne in 1975.

Agree, This is definately Swans drydocks in Wallsend (AKA Neptune Docks), up ahead is the Thermal Syndicate factory and the 3 tower block flats - Sadly the Docks are now derelict, along with the adjoining shipyards, the flats are still there, as is the Thermal Syndicate Factory - although now under French ownership.

Would the `Jungle` have been a mile or so up the road to the right, looks familiar but time can play tricks.
