Originally built 1931 as "Achimota" for British & African S N Co Ltd (Elder Dempster & Co - mgrs). Because of Kylsant crash they could not pay for her so laid up at Harland & Wolff until bought in 1932 by Huddary Parker Ltd. and renamed "Wanganella".

She appears to be in Hang Fung colours so is probably on one of the cruises she made between August 1962, when Hang Fung took her over, and November 1962 when she arrived at Fremantle to act as a floating hotel at the Commonwealth Games.

yes , Hang Fung colours , owned by the scrap metal co 'A G Sims' , she operated cruises from Sydney & Auckland when not sailing trans Tasman . As she was paying of in Auckland (1962 or '63) to steam to Doubtful Sound where she acted as base hostel for the Manapouri Power Scheme I caught a nice silver ice bucket flying out of a porthole .
