Built by William Doxford and Sons Ltd., Sunderland with a 3 cylinder Doxford steam engine and launched on 28 March 1918 as War Stag. In 1919 she was purchased by The Hain Steamship Co. Ltd. and renamed Tregonnell as shown in this photograph. She served them well for 16 years before sold, in 1935, for £15,650 to Italy and renamed Iris.
On 25 June 1943 she was bombed and sunk during an air attack on Messina. During April 1944 she was raised, repaired and re-commissioned in 1948. She gave 10 years more service until sold for scrap in 1958 and broken up at Spezia.
