She was in Orkney for a while as well in the 90's. The Hutchison's who owned the Amazon owned her.
Worked for clams and sometimes rigged for the prawns.

They had a go at dredging for "spoots" (Razor Clams) Too with a 200hp ***mings on the stern to run the pump!

Aquarius.....We did go too the pair indeed but it did'nt last long. I was on the amazon at the time and it was a bit unfair because we did most o the work. It was easier to haul the the gear on the amazon because we had a net drum so we got shafted with 90% of the processing! Unless we had a big bag.

yeh i see cliffy,we had that net after you were finished with it and it could take some crap

It sure did! Have you heard how the gray boy's are geting on with the Amazon? They doing scallops or trawl? The Wendy Ann was'nt a very good looking boat but she could tow very well. She had a 200 odd hp Gardner engine and could handal the fair isle scallop sandbanks no bother! Did'nt do much for the ozone when he was taking a race at a sandbank with the black smoke off the gardner!
