It's a very interesting treatment, and as you say a bit spooky, but I find waterside can be a bit like that at night. I think it's the sounds, creaking timber, slapping ropes, flapping canvas, the plop of a fish jumping and the lapping of the water etc. The way sound carries over water as well, a laugh or a curse from some distance off, but nothing to be seen. Maybe it's being on the cusp of our world and that mysterious other one. Definitely some skullduggery going on in this scene though. Thanks for posting, certainly got the imagination turning over.
