Where is the "Esplanade"?

Where is the "Esplanade"?

M.O.C. owned "Cape-size" bulker Esplanade, first registered in Panama, O.N. 10718-NY, 76449grt. Photographed in 1984.
I would have put this in the "quiz" forum but I don't know how to attach thumbs to posts!
The map on the board to the right of shot gives a clue-- please don't get it TOO easily!

Correct. as i suspected, altogether too easy for experts on here-- though the map does rather look like a picture of a sperm, don't you think?

Could the sperm be pointing the way to the Esplanade Hotel in Port Hedland - good spot to see the travelling Raunchy Girls. Maybe the ship was named after the pub!

Or indeed the Port Hedland Gold Cup - seemingly the going was always described as firm. One of the few, if not only, race tracks made of crushed iron ore; poor horses. no wonder they looked forward to summer and a trip south to easier climes.

Why is it that I take a few days break and someone posts a picture which I can identify ?!?

I remember them well. I layed up and maintained both the Equinox and the Esplanade at Labuan. Had major problems in the accomodation with fumes from the adhesives used for the floor tiles most probably caused by the dehumidification process. Nice ships.
