Paul Jebsen of Bergen had his tanker WILHELM JEBSEN built on Tyneside in 1953 for charter to the oil majors, so the ship was a frequent visitor to the Bristol Channel.

Here photographed passing Portishead, inbound for Avonmouth exactly fifty years ago, on 22nd March 1970, she was reported in May 19
