Oz: You have some really great pix of old Melbourne (my town). I (and I'm sure many others) really appreciate you sharing them with us. Doug H

Thank you for the comment Doug. They are mainly taken from a book, Port of Melbourne-1835-1976, a copy of which was given to all employes of the Melbourne Harbour Trust in 1976. It did take some time to get permission to use the photo's but the effort was well worthwhile. I am currently trying for permission to use photo's from a BHP book, 'The Iron Fleet. Some wonderful photos in it of the BHP Fleet from way back. I am lucky as my dad was engineer on Melbourne tugs when I was a kid and I learned so much from him and the crew on the tug.
