Rick,
Owners were Youssef Shipping Corp. Managers Fadi Shipping Corporation of Vassilias Sofias Avenue, Athens who themselves owned one ship, Fadi B; a motor tanker of 59,300 DWT. The managers seemed to specialise in managing for single ship companies all with middle eastern sounding names, 5 in total. All the ships managed had names ending in the initial "B". If I'd been a tax inspector I might have wondered about that. Youssef B. had a quoted service speed of 15.47 knots, 10C x 20W tank configuration and used Butterworth Tank Cleaning. I was slightly surprised to see she was fitted with heating coils, don't know why the surprise other than she was a big ship for the time. Wonder if she was used in the black oil trade?

Alastair,
interesting info. thanks for digging it up. I just had a hunch that she was being managed for an Arab owner- Syrian or such like with a monniker like that.
I'll ask my oracle who may know about these things .....!

With regards to her being fitted with heating coils, I would not have expected anything else really- she was a really quite a large crude carrier when built and would have been for black oil only , surely ?

regards,
Rick
