Does anyone have a photo of a ship bunkering fuel in the 1940s? Do you know if fuel was bunked at St. Vincent in the Cape Verde islands and Aden?
Thank you in anticipation for your assistance.

Does anyone have a photo of an engine room in a steamship in the 1930s. Would also value an explanation of the process of powering a steamship from coal.

I am looking for information about the shipping line Runciman Walter & Co. Ltd - Moor Line. My late father, William Fred Learmonth, sailed on their ships - Southmoor - 169765, and Kirriemoor - 164461, between 1946 and 1951 as Chief Engineer. I am particularly interested in the international route these ships travelled and the type of cargo transported. Believe the line eventually amalgamated with Anchor Line - but have been unable to get information regarding this line as well. Thanks in anticipation for your assistance.

Does anyone know the voyage routes of the Walter Runciman ship Southmoor between 1946 and 1950. My Father was Chief Engineer during these dates - and trips were foreign - going.

Does anyone know information about Empire Lorenzo or other merchant navy ships in the Mediterranean between January 1944 and December 1945. The voyage cards list the ports he visited - but not the cargo carried. The ports he visited were those in Algeria, Sicily, Sardinia, Malta and all around the coast of Italy. This was before and after the Itlaian campaign - would it be troop transfers? Would really appreciate any information.

I am currently writing the biography of my Father William Fred Learmonth who was a Scottish Marine Engineer 1930's - 1950's in N.Z. and the U.K. Could anyone help me with the following -

    2. Photos of the engine room on a steam powered vessel - Somerset - Federal Steam navigation Company.
3.Photo of the engine room on HMS Rangitata where he was a Refrigeration Engineer.
