To be honest, cleaning the top of sauce bottles was just standard hygiene that was carried out regularly and not just for inspections. I certainly wouldn't have expected to get caught out for that...

I hated brass....think it was Denholms Troll Boats that were covered in the stuff....stairs, threshhold to every cabin, everywhere. Inspections were a nightmare because all of it had to be gleaming....

Sailed with a cook onetime (on the BenLawers actually) who cooked a roast on a plastic tray. He thought it was ok because the tray said it was heat resistant......true story!
