Bankline in the 50's

Anyone out there that sailed on the Westbank, September 1959 signed on at Bromborough and signed off in London April 1960. My first voyage. Skipper was Captain Ellarby, now no longer with us.

The "Rubber Bands" you are talking about, were the water and oil hoses, for the upper piston cooling, which occasionally used to rupture and thrash about, throwing water/oil all over the top platform...
