It brought back a few memories too. I joined my first ship, British Wye, off RAK and stayed in the same hotel. There was only the hotel then and very little else apart from sand!

Graham, interesting how you comment on nine cadets at the same time. The "River Class" were built with 4 Cadet Cabins (two bunks each). Were we not just cheap labour??) Said Tongue in Cheek......
