Two were ANL - River Boyne and River Embley. Two were TNT - TNT Carpentaria and TNT Capricornia.

They ran from Gladstone where local coal bunkers were loaded to Weipa where bauxite cargo was loaded for the aluminium smelter at Gladstone.

The TNTs had a get-you-home diesel engine which enabled them to go further afield, ie Tasmania, Western Australia and also Taiwan.
