I recall an incident in the ’50s when the Rippingham Grange lay fairly close to our ship at the Gatun Lake anchorage while awaiting a scheduled transit of the Panama Canal. Traffic on VHF became lively when a seaman in the Houlders vessel apparently went bananas and dived overboard. He was eventually picked up after swimming around for a while.
I passed your message on to Eddie - best regards JC
