Great post Harry, i went to sea in 1958, not a lot had changed since your days. Some ships were hungry, but i must have been lucky, because i always fed well at sea, maybe not fussy, as at home after the war, the meals were very basic anyway. I also always felt sorry for the apprentice, but in the beginning i was *peggy*, so not much better off, kt
