Llanelly Trader (1913), Yorkshire coast, Solin, Marino,

Hi All

Im after any image / Plan

Official Number: 135884

The information i have so far is as follows:

Launched as the Llanelly trader for The London Welsh steamship Co. in 1913 at Dundee shipbuilding Co. Limited. Yard no. 248

May 1923 Change of name to Yorkshire Coast.
Owner: Coast lines Ltd London
28th Oct 1938 sold for 4.400 to unnamed buyer possibly Mediterranean
Changed to Norwegian flag and called Marino in 1941Named changed back to Solin in 1946
Arrived at Split Yogoslavia 23rd Aug 1963 and broken up.

I though it would be easy to get an image for her when she was with Coast Lines but cant find any.

The plans would be really helpful as i am after making a model of her.

Kind Regards Guernsey Guy.

Llanelly trader

Hi There.
I have lived in Llanelly all my life, but its now spelt
Llanelli, they changed the "y" to an "I" many years ago.
I have never come across any mention of this ship, but
I will have a "scout" around to see if I can get any
information on her.If you don't mind me asking, what
is your interest in her ?.
Dave Williams
Llanelli South Wales.

Lloyds Register entry gives more on dimensions (deck lengths etc)

There was an exact sister "Tees Trader" which became "Lady Olive" and was converted to a Q ship in WW1 , sunk 1917. I wonder whether any Admiralty plans survive?

Thanks EddyW

Im after researching The Sister ship Tees Trader and have come to a complete dead end with her, i noticed she had a sister ship and then changed my research to find out more about her in the hope i could find an image or plan of this ship instead.

I can access the Lloyds register for her do you know how i can get this information ?

The Tees Trader / Lady Olive was sunk by UC 18 to The South of Guernsey and I'm interested in filling in the missing information i have on this ship.

Lloyds registers for the 1930=45 period are on-line at plimsoll.org.
Link to "Yorkshire Coast" entries here:
https://southampton.spydus.co.uk/cgi...DBSEARCHPARAMS
Click on any of the entries and the page downloads as a pdf file.
